Members range from those who do sugarcraft professionally to
absolute beginners, and our evenings programme reflect this variation.
The cost of membership is £40 per year. Guest fees are £5.
We have a number of social events including a Christmas buffet
after our November meeting, a New Year Dinner in January and a garden
party, which replaces our meeting in August.
A newsletter is sent out every month
detailing the next meeting and other events. Handy tips are often
given here too.
At each meeting, there is usually some second-hand equipment and books for sale.
Sugarcraft materials can be bought in small amounts for workshops.
Equipment can be borrowed from other members so you don't have to
spend a lot to join in.
We also benefit from our affiliation with the National Sugar Art
Association.
Of course, there can be a competitive element if you wish. We have
our own Christmas cake competition and a March meeting challenge.
We run workshops outside of our meetings, for example decorating cupcakes and
Christmas cakes, and we give demonstrations, such as to W.I. and Friendship
Groups. Some pictures of our most recent activities are shown below.
